Our sea has many shores We are aplicants to a new and very atractive Central Baltic programme with a common objective: the coast, the sea,
culture, wildlife, environment and other natural resources generate in
the time. Photobaltic is a project using the photography as artistic
medium to made a book, a exhibition, workshops, and generate
relationships between photographers and students and people. It is a
interactive method of
participation .
The Baltic Sea, our sea, the sea that unites to so many nations of the north of Europe has very many shores and each one of them is full of history and of very different cultures. In my desire to discover these land from the year 2002, the sea always are been present in my life and my work like photographer and also like lover of sunrises and sunsets on blue water canvas in the horizon. From Nida in Lithuania to Narva in Estonia or from Goteborg to Upsala in Sweden, on icebreaker from Helsinki to the gulf of Botnia, with the patrol surveillance of aerial monitoring of the sea of Finland I have been crossed a few kilometers discovering new places creating desire to communicate those new images to other travelers who look for in adventurous his way to feel like in their own house, with the common nexus of the sea. The coast of the Baltic Sea between those mentioned places is not just as others, it is different, and it is the space used by thousands of people at every time of the year for mediation of always wished vacations. In winter with the ice and the snow covering all the coast the amazing spectacle. In spring the light is eternal with sunset in the horizon wonderful due to our global position and the many celebrations that become in their shores to the sun and to the mother Earth that is our source of life and wealth. In summer the borders of our Baltic Sea are the hosts of thousands of souls that after a long year of work wish to obtain compensates of the rest in sands of their beaches or picnic with the friends on same rocks of the shores of the Baltic Sea loaded of history. With our project we tried to discover for all the neighbors and tourists of this legendary sea its customs and to approach them through the photography, of the image, without passport, no cross-borders in total freedom. We have lonely islands in the Baltic Sea, places and corners that we have still not visited yet, small villages giving the opportunity to learn of its history and culture, of how the houses in many countries are only constructed of wood protecting and reducing the environmental impact that generates the cement and other materials. Following the slogan of the third priority of Central Baltic programme "Attractive and dynamic societies" we want to discover the life of the neighbours of Sweden, Finland, Estonia or Latvia and approach the lifes and culture without borders.
